The Role
The Director, Business and Legal Affairs role will focus on complex contracts relating to content sales, distribution and acquisition in the Americas. They will support cross-functional collaboration and a co-ordinated approach to deals and agreements across multiple business units (e.g. sales, finance, operations and marketing teams) and territories. The role will be based out of New York (Los Angeles might be possible though not ideal).
Professional Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for exceptional candidates with a JD degree and membership of NY Bar (and/or CA Bar). The successful candidate will have 9+ years of relevant business or legal affairs transactional experience on the content distribution and acquisition side, gained at a television or multimedia distribution company, network and/or entertainment law firm. Please note that only candidates with relevant US experience and qualifications will be considered.
A deep understanding of the entertainment industry and relevant deal terms, structures and industry standards for content distribution agreements, including digital rights, is a given and experience with digital consumer subscription services and streaming will be highly valued.

Compensation
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $190,000 to $215,000. This range does not include competitive bonus compensation or other benefits, including but not limited to flexible, hybrid working, 100% covered medical & dental insurance, vision, & 401k match. The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held etc.
