Description

LEGAL COUNSEL/SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL - COMMERCIAL CONTRACTS
GLOBAL MEDIA INFRASTUCTURE BUSINESS
MINIMUM 3 DAYS IN OFFICE (EITHER SLOUGH OR DAGENHAM, EAST LONDON)
FULL TIME OR PART-TIME (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE)

A brilliant opportunity for a commercial contracts lawyer in property, infrastructure or commerce & industry to use their experience within the exciting world of media production!

THE BUSINESS
Our client owns and operates one of the world’s largest independent studio and media infrastructure portfolios, with 30+ studios globally and over 500 stages across its network. The group provides the operational backbone that allows productions to run — facilities, equipment, logistics and studio services — supporting productions at scale across the UK, EMEA and internationally.
This is a business where legal work is practical, commercial and embedded in day-to-day operations.

THE ROLE
This is a commercial contracts position focused on licensing, facilities agreements, procurement, and operational legal work supporting large-scale studio infrastructure. It's an outstanding opportunity for a commercial contracts lawyer with a background in infrastructure, property or commerce & industry to join a close-knit legal team supporting UK and European operations. Please note that this is not a content production/media role.

Key responsibilities include:
• Drafting and negotiating studio occupancy licences, leases and access agreements for film & TV productions
• Managing equipment rental and licensing T&Cs with high-value customers
• Vendor supply and procurement contracts
• Supporting employment-related administration, including grievance documentation and subject access requests
• Advising finance, sales, HR and operations teams on commercial matters
• Explaining agreement structures and fee positions to international stakeholders
• Liaising with external counsel on specialist matters
• Mentoring and supporting a junior solicitor
• Contributing to unique cross-border legal projects

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
We are looking for a qualified commercial contracts lawyer who is thorough, confident and competent to enjoy ownership of their work and practical problem solving.
You will bring:
• Strong commercial contracts drafting and negotiation experience
• Exposure to licensing, leasing, procurement or facilities agreements (highly desirable)
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confidence working with stakeholders across multiple business functions
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Willingness to handle both routine and complex matters with equal care

The minimum level of PQE is likely to be 4-5 years' PQE.  There is no upper limit and we welcome candidates with c.8+ years' relevant PQE and above: in such cases the role can be offered part-time (3 or 4 days per week).

If you are interested please get in touch ASAP with your current CV, salary and notice details to discuss further! Please note that due to the number of applications, we can only respond to candidates with relevant experience for this role, as outlined above.
