Our client, a leading international distributor of television programming and formats, is seeking an experienced media lawyer with TV distribution experience to join their friendly, in-house legal and business affairs team on a 12-month contract.
The role will support the Content team on the acquisition, development and distribution of rights and more generally programmes of predominantly non-scripted content, as well as licensing and formats.
A sample of day-to-day matters that the LBA team supports, include:
Content (Non-Scripted Acquisitions):
- Collaborate with the Content team, offering legal and commercial advice on acquiring distribution rights.
- Draft, review, and negotiate development agreements for non-scripted projects primarily.
- Negotiate distribution agreements, focusing on group-produced programs.
- Provide internal stakeholders with commercial and legal advice to minimise risk and maximise opportunities.
Sales (Formats and Finished Programmes):
- Advise the Sales team on legal and commercial matters for global content exploitation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate license agreements for TV, digital, format and ancillary rights.
We are looking for candidates with strong TV distribution experience ideally, as well as clear communication, good organisation, initiative and attention to detail.
