LW Entertainment Limited sits at the heart of global musical theatre, representing and stewarding the work of Andrew Lloyd Webber — the most commercially successful composer of all time. As the business continues to grow its portfolio and expand into new and emerging entertainment spaces, we are delighted to work with them exclusively on the search for a Legal & Business Affairs Director to play a pivotal leadership role in shaping their next chapter.

This is a rare opportunity for a qualified entertainment lawyer with c. 10 years’ PQE and above to combine strategic thinking with hands-on dealmaking in a business built on iconic intellectual property, creativity, and international reach.

Reporting directly to the General Counsel / COO, you will lead the high-performing Legal & Business Affairs team, partnering closely with senior leadership to ensure all licensing, brand, and development activities are commercially bold and legally robust. From stage and music rights to publishing, film/TV, consumer products and emerging platforms, your work will span a dynamic and evolving landscape.

We’re looking for someone with an excellent entertainment industry background, deep rights (ideally grand rights) and licensing expertise, commercial instinct, and a collaborative leadership style — a trusted adviser who can connect strategy with execution, mentor and inspire the team, and support ambitious growth plans across multiple territories.

You will:

• Drive complex, high-value negotiations across theatrical, music, publishing and brand licensing. This will also include consumer products, marketing and advertising.
  • Provide strategic legal guidance aligned with business priorities
  • Lead and develop a talented in-house legal team
  • Safeguard and maximise the value of world-class intellectual property
  • Act as a calm, pragmatic sounding board to senior stakeholders
  • Anticipate industry shifts — from technology to regulation — and position the business to respond confidently
