Our client is an innovative technology business listed on the London Stock Exchange with a global presence which is growing through acquisition. They are looking for an Intellectual Property lawyer to join the brilliant close knit IP team. Reporting to the Head of IP, you will support stakeholders across the business. Your remit will be varied and super interesting and you will work with colleagues who are scientists, inventors and innovators, as well as colleagues on the business development & exploitation side of IP. The business's IP is in demand in sectors such as hybrid motor vehicles, laser and space technology etc making this a particulalry exciting area to be in!
THE ROLE
The role will be almost entirely non-contentious and the successful candidate will principally support exploitation of the Group's IP, for example through licensing and partnering and will also advise on its exploitation strategy, for example:
• Drafting and negotiating agreements related to IP generation, including R&D collaboration agreements;
• Advising on IP terms in customer and supplier agreements, and IP disputes.
You will have some minor involvement in trademark portfolio matters and also collaborate with the in-house patent counsel, in relation to eg. technology transfer matters.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
You will be proactive, flexible and able to liaise with stakeholders effectively and project manage. Ideally, you will have 3 years' or more PQE and may have qualified in private practice or in-house. If you have a strong IP background, great training and are at c. 2 years' PQE, this could also be a great development pathway for you. An interest in Science or Tech will be useful.
