Our client is an incredible independent award-winning animation studio creating film, series, advertising, interactive entertainment and attractions. They also distribute and license their own brands. The business is fun, dynamic, creative and busy.
We are looking for a media lawyer to join the Business Affairs team on a 9-12 month fixed term contract. The role reports to the Head of Business Affairs.
The Business Affairs team provides commercial advice and legal services to all departments within the business, including: marketing, IP development, production, feature films, licensing, merchandising, digital and commercials. The Department also advises on protecting the company’s intellectual property rights and brands.
Hybrid working is available and our client will also consider flexible working hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiating and drafting various agreements for the Interactive and Rights teams, particularly focusing on managing content acquired from third parties for distribution; and merchandising and game development hybrid deals.
- Leading on certain productions.
- Managing and advising on data protection queries.
You will have experience of IP and media law. Ideally you will also have experience of licensing and acquiring intellectual property rights and of rights distribution.
The successful candidate will have proven drafting experience and willingness to adapt to a number of different agreement types, together with excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
