Our client is a global household name unrivalled as one of the most recognised brands in the world.

One of their highly successful legal departments is looking for a Senior Attorney to work in a unique and hybrid role across two key areas of the business.

You will provide legal advice and support to Consumer Products EMEA including merchandise licensing, book and magazine publishing, retail, games and e-commerce and will also support their travel business who have world famous parks and experiences.

You will have a contracts manager reporting to you and will be responsible for their day to day workflow and management.

The position requires a UK qualified lawyer, or equivalent, with experience of general contract and commercial law, digital and e-commerce issues, established drafting skills and the ability to handle multiple competing matters with a commercial mind-set.

The role has a dual reporting line and reports to the two lawyers who head up the different business areas.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

-Providing continuing support to the CMC (contract management centre) for the drafting and negotiation of certain merchandise and publishing license agreements throughout EMEA
-Provision of general legal advice on commercial and competition law issues arising from the merchandise and publishing licensing businesses, travel and retail/e-commerce business
-Providing general legal support to the business on new business models and retail matters, including on global supply chain management issues, direct sourcing, intellectual property and consumer law
-Provide advice on legal issues relating to intellectual property licensing and related activities, including reviewing style guides and licensee packaging and marketing materials
-Providing legal support on general corporate matters
-Advice on regulatory issues
-Providing continuing legal support to the teams with regards to travel-related matters, including websites, media, promotions, consumer law, trade and vendor contracts, e-commerce, booking terms and conditions, guest claims and litigation, etc.
-Management of a contract manager assisting with the travel business.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years PQE. You will also have proven experience of negotiating and drafting contracts in-house and advising different business areas and in-house clients in a commercial environment across intellectual property, licensing and general commercial matters, ideally in an international environment.

A background in consumer products, hospitality and/or tourism would be advantageous but is not essential. It is essential to have a solid grounding in IP and commercial work. You will be comfortable working in a multicultural environment and be excellent at building relationships across different territories.
