Our client is a top media and entertainment brand. It produces and distributes a high quality range of entertainment programmes enjoyed by audiences around the world. It is multi-genre and has successfully acquired some new content generators in recent years, adding to its impressive range of programming.

This particular team are looking for a strong paralegal/contracts manager to join them. They are an exciting, diverse and busy team primarily devoted to maximising revenue from the organisation’s programmes and trade marks on a global basis.

You will be responsible for supporting a senior lawyer and helping to advice the business on all legal issues for the department, working with the rest of the business and third-party commercial units and legal counterparts around the world.

This role is a 12 month fixed-term contract and some of your areas of responsibility will involve the following, alongside the Senior Legal & Business Affairs Manager you report to:

  • International Consumer Products Licensing – Drafting and negotiating licensing contracts where the company licenses its rights in trademarks, brands, logos and programmes to third parties including: – Merchandise licensees and product and service promotion companies – Location based entertainment providers – Agent liaison

– Print media publishers and distributors * Programme and Format Sales, Production and Distribution – Drafting and negotiating programme sales licences, output deals, format licences and distribution agreements with parties including: – Third party broadcasters on a worldwide basis – Airlines, cruise ship and other non-theatric and closed network operators – Third party TV production companies

  • Other Work – Liaising with a specialist IP enforcement team in the management of their trademark portfolio and strategy – Dealing with regulatory work and contentious matters such as litigation, the Bribery Act and FCPA, issuing default and termination letters The role is more of a purist contracts manager one with lots of focus on drafting and negotiation. As such, the successful candidate will be a competent and capable paralegal/contracts manager who is comfortable drafting contracts and negotiating. You will also be able to build relationships effectively and efficiently across territories.

You will have an ability to prioritise effectively and to perform to a high standard under pressure. Spanish would be advantageous, but is not essential.
