We have a great new paralegal / business affairs role for a confident, dynamic and personable individual to join our client within the creative marketing sector.
The business is hugely entrepreneurial, agile and exciting. It started life as a group of marketing agencies with a specific focus on fashion, lifestyle, PR and events.
We met with the dynamic Group Counsel to discuss the need for a legal specialist to join the team. The role is very wide-ranging with interesting and diverse work. Amongst other things, you will help shape a number of contracts which focus on engagement with social media influencers, talent and various events suppliers.
Ideally you will have at least 2-3 years within a business affairs role. You may be an established paralegal/business affairs executive with significant drafting experience or a Newly Qualified solicitor who is keen to break into a creative industry. You must be highly personable and able to build relationships with people at all levels of the business, including senior stakeholders. You will be confident but not arrogant. Your style will be proactive with an eagerness to learn.
You will have a sound knowledge of commercial contracts (influencer and talent agreements are of particular interest) and IP matters. The role comprises 80% commercial contracts work and the remaining elements include business advice, legal research, some data protection work and some corporate projects.
Some day to day projects might include:
- Influencer and other third party contract negotiations (ability to dovetail with client contracts where necessary). Negotiation of supplier contracts such as venue agreements for events, performer agreements, supply of goods agreements, contracts with production companies etc.
- Negotiation of NDAs with prospective clients and suppliers
- Creation of new contract templates when required
- Management of contract template suite and proactive recognition of where templates need to be improved
The role will suit someone who is commercially focused, has a great eye for detail and who loves being in the hub of things. You will take great pride in your work and enjoy working collaboratively with senior management and the rest of the business. Our client has offices in the US and Paris so French language skills are welcome.
