EMPLOYMENT ASSOCIATE/SNR ASSOCIATE – INTERNATIONAL FOCUS
EMPLOYMENT LAW
ASSOCIATE/SENIOR ASSOCIATE
CENTRAL LONDON
REF: 2040
Our client is an impressive City law firm focused on advising on businesses which drive the Innovation, Tech and Investment ecosystems. A key part of their offering is their highly rated Employment law practice which advises businesses ranging from startups to major multinationals on the full range of domestic and international Employment and HR matters.
The team is thriving and their rapid growth, particularly on the international side, has opened up the opportunity for a mid to senior-level Employment Law practitioner to join and take on a crucial role in the team. Their international labour practice advises multinationals (particularly US-based Technology-driven businesses) on their commercial and workforce expansions in the UK, EMEA and Asia Pacific regions – advising on office openings, recruitment, outsourcings, re-organisations, redundancies etc. The domestic practice is particularly noted for its expertise in advising businesses on the impact of significant changes to working practices in the past decade, such as the increasing role of technology, AI, data protection issues, social media, flexible working, diversity and equality, and the gig economy. In addition they cover all of the typical advisory, contentious and transactional employment law matters for clients in Tech, Media, Communications and IP-rich businesses.
Work between the two practices is fairly evenly split and there is minimal Corporate support work. The incoming lawyer will be expected to take a leading role on major projects, including managing teams of junior and overseas’ lawyers. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in exciting BD enterprises, including international travel. The role will suit a mid to senior level associate looking for a step up into a Senior Associate or even Counsel position, depending on experience and current status.
The successful candidate will be a technically strong and rounded Employment law practitioner, with commercial nous and experience of advising/co-ordinating advice on international employment/HR projects.
The role offers cutting edge work within a progressive and friendly working environment, with a competitive salary and good advancement prospects.
