A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a banking lawyer to join the close-knit and highly experienced legal team based in London. Reporting to the General Counsel, this is a business facing role supporting the Corporate & Investment Banking business on all its international activities.
This broad role will focus primarily on providing legal, regulatory, reputational and transactional advice and support to the business, including drafting and negotiating documentation relating to complex loan syndication. There will be further opportunities to get involved in the more general legal activity of the group as whole.
You will be running and managing your own transactions from start to finish, which will include regular interaction with business stakeholders, as well as external counsel. Outstanding relationship and project management skills will therefore be an essential part of this role.
You will be UK or common law qualified, with excellent training from a leading law firm and solid general banking and leveraged finance experience. You will have a track record of supporting and managing complex cross-border investment banking deals for multinational clients.
The right personality and cultural fit is paramount to be successful in this role. You will be a commercially minded individual with an enquiring mind who understands the need to be a true partner across the business. You will thrive in a multicultural, cosmopolitan, meritocratic environment and enjoy new challenges. The working environment is supportive and progressive: the legal team is highly valued and you will have plenty of opportunities for learning and development both in London and internationally. Some overseas travel will be required.
