Our client is one of the most recognised media brands in the world. They are looking for a brilliant individual to join the Employment Legal team, based out of London.
This role will primarily focus on UK and EMEA matters but the successful candidate will have access to a truly global remit and stakeholders. With over 80,000 permanent employees plus a large number of contractors, the breadth, client base spread and variety on offer with this role will be second to none.
A UK qualified employment lawyer with excellent training and experience from a well-respected law firm is ideal. Some in-house experience in the form of a secondment will be useful but is not required. Good cultural fit will be key: personable, proactive and responsive ‘self-starters’ who can really partner with the stakeholders, avoid an overly “legalistic” approach and thrive on fast pace and variety will do very well in this role. We are ideally looking for 4 years' or more relevant PQE, though this is an indicative guide only.
Much of the work will involve providing day to day advice across all business segments such as the News and Production divisions and will also likely involve advising on investigations, re-organisations and the employment aspects of acquisitions. Employment litigation is rare within this business, a testament to its successful risk management approach.
