THE ROLE
This is a very exciting opportunity for a mid-level commercial lawyer with broad experience and a passion for film to join the close knit legal team servicing all areas of the business in the UK and Europe. You will work across a wide range of legal matters, including commercial contracts, licensing, leasing, supply agreements, employment, real estate, corporate, IP and litigation.
Matters will include drafting and negotiating studio facilities licence agreements with film & TV productions, standard form equipment rental T&Cs with high value customers, vendor & supply agreements and providing commercial legal and business affairs advice to stakeholders across all departments (inc. finance, sales, HR, operations). You will work on exciting and unique legal projects, liaising with and instructing external counsel and act as a mentor to and help supervise the trainee solicitor in the team.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  • Qualified Lawyer/Solicitor with approximately 3-6 years' PQE
  • Good academic qualifications and training, in private practice or in-house
  • Broad commercial contracts experience, including drafting and negotiating.
  • Ambition and desire to take ownership of and responsibility for discrete legal projects
  • Highly motivated team player, capable of handling legal work increasingly autonomously
  • Highly organised and with good attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to tackle basic and straightforward matters with the same diligence and commitment as sophisticated / complex work

The role offers a great work/life balance based on 40 hours a week and a competitive salary and benefits, including bonus. The UK HQ are in Slough and you must be able to commute to Slough for the majority of the week.  The culture is fun, international, supportive and collaborative and this role will suit a commercial generalist who is motivated to work in the film and TV production sector.
