CONSULTANCY BASIS
LONDON 
We are working with a leading global real estate investment & asset management firm. Its UK portfolio is focused on a residential build-to-rent (BTR) strategy, with projects in the London commuter belt and other major cities, leveraging existing global expertise.

We are looking for an experienced construction lawyer to join the UK London based team, working 3 days per week on a consultancy basis. Reporting to the Senior Director for Development, the successful candidate will be the business' first internal UK lawyer. The company's retained external counsel will continue to handle the day to day contract negotiations and this role will focus on warranties post-acquisition and the construction phase of acquisitions. 

In addition, the successful candidate will support the Exec team on the following workstreams:

1. Direct consultant appointments (mainly monitoring services);
2. Review of developer/contractor consultant appointments and warranties to ascertain compliance with the contracts and risk profile of any amendments;
3. Review of building contracts to assess compliance with the requirements in the sales contracts;
4. Review sub-contractor contracts and warranties;
5. Agree JCT D&B contracts for fitting out amenity spaces, mainly just finishes;
6. Support during the HoTs negotiations, ie. the non-binding agreements; and
7. Assist in monitoring Sales Agreement obligations post exchange.

You must be UK qualified, based in the UK and must have previous developer JCT contracts experience.
